This newsletter is titled Possibility. It comes from my favorite saying which is: possibility, probability, predictability. If you think about the words the saying is self-explanatory. My website Motivation and Self Improvement Guide is all about motivation and self improvement. It is a compilation of articles I have written regarding motivation, leadership and self improvement derived from my experience over the past 20 years. If you follow the concepts that I have outlined here, you too can experience taking your life goals and ambitions from possibility all the way to predictability.
Is Positive Thinking Worth the Effort?I get lots of email requests asking me to explain how positive thinking can impact one’s life.
Just like objects, emotions and the words that describe them, have a valence or a weight to them. Positive emotions tend to be light, airy and rather ephemeral. When we experience positive emotions, we feel lighter, more relaxed, calm and joyous. On the other hand, negative emotions tend to feel heavy, sluggish, sometimes fearful, and generally make us feel uncomfortable inside our bodies.

Our bodies are very dense and rather heavy feeling, and negative emotions can very easily get trapped inside of our bodies. For some reason, we humans tend to store negative emotions inside our bodies. That is because negative emotions are dense and our physical bodies are also dense, a “like- attracts-like” phenomenon. It also could be our guilt-based society that tends to tell us that we need to feel bad or guilty about what is going on in our lives.
Whatever the reason, it seems to take some effort to insert positive energy through positive thinking into our physical bodies. What happens when we think positively is that we are actually raising our frequency to the frequency of positive results. If you are operating in lower frequencies, you will attract situations in your life that are of a lower frequency. If you raise that frequency through positive thinking, you will in turn attract higher-level frequencies in your life outcomes.
positive self talk
I know how difficult this can be. There was a time in my life when I couldn’t conjure up a single positive emotion to feel. I was at a bookstore one day, and on the sale table I found this little booklet that said something about “3000 things to be thankful for”. There were things like a small furry kitten, a gingerbread house, a bright blue morning sky, etc. They all seem a little silly, but that little book served me well. Just reading through it started to raise my frequency. When I found a scenario that was particularly appealing, I would take a few moments just to imagine what it would feel like. For instance, I imagined cradling a small furry kitten in my arms. I would imagine the smells of a gingerbread house on Christmas morning and how it would taste when I bit into it. I would imagine lying in the grass and experiencing a bright blue sky like I did when I was a kid. This method seems elementary, but it really does work. I might suggest that you keep a list of things that you are grateful for and what you enjoy close by. Every morning go through the list and feel what it feels like to be in that positive mindset. When you are emotionally down, do this without fail. You will find yourself feeling light, airy, confident, calm and ready to meet any challenge.
That is how positive thinking can change your life. The higher your frequency goes, the more positive goals you can achieve. Try it for two weeks and report back to me any changes that you notice. On the other hand, any negative emotions that you’re feeling can affect you very strongly. When you have a negative thought or a negative incident, and you allow yourself to think about it, it is like that negative situation happens to you all over again. Over time, this type of fixation on negative thoughts can begin to affect your body physically. Negative thoughts can attract infections into your body that can impact your health. This is why it’s so important for you to practice positive thinking on a daily basis
For those who need immediate or critical help, I would suggest following the program that I have outlined on this webpage:
The Power of Drumming
On my spiritual journey, I encountered a number of practices that gave me a lot of peace and calm. One of those that I discovered was drumming. Why would a group of grown-ups sit around in a circle and drum? All I can say is, try it you'll like it. The concept is that everyone creates a different beat. You will feel the vibrations of the drums from the top of your head clear down to your toes. It is a wonderful vibrational feeling and will make you feel warm and tingly all over.
It is very healing for your body and has the effect of a meditation. Pick up an alternative newspaper in your area and you may find a drum circle being advertised. Take a few friends and show up with your drums. I promise you will not be disappointed.
