Possibility, Issue #003--The University of TED Talks
May 20, 2014

This newsletter is titled Possibility. It comes from my favorite saying which is: possibility, probability, predictability. If you think about the words the saying is self-explanatory. My website Motivation and Self Improvement Guide is all about this concept. It is a compilation of articles I have written regarding motivation, leadership and self improvement derived from my experience over the past 20 years. If you follow the concepts that I have outlined here, you too can experience taking your life goals and ambitions from possibility all the way to predictability.

The University of TED Talks

I am a big fan of TED talks. If you are unfamiliar with TED, it is an annual conference that is targeted toward the high tech industry. They have the most interesting and innovative speakers on the planet. It is difficult to get an invitation to a TED conference. Many people, including celebrities, try and fail to get invited. In short, it is a very big deal.

If you want to stay up to date and continue with your education, sign up at TED and listen to a few TED talks. You will fascinate your friends and family with your newfound knowledge and find a great reference for topics such as business and leadership. It is one of the most interesting sites on the web.

I found a TED talk by Simon Sinek very interesting and appropriate to this newsletter. It is titled, “Why Good Leaders Make you Feel Safe”. In the article, he talks about making an environment for your employees where they feel safe and how motivating that can be.

He discusses the world we live in and how there are threats all around us and that we always feel we have to keep our guard up. He says how leaders often assume an authoritative role and one that is threatening and how that is not conducive to teamwork and innovation. It is very similar to the information in the article on my website page: Employee Motivation

I hope you will listen to Simon’s talk and I hope you enjoy it. It can be found here:

Many of you come to my website looking for information about how to motivate employees. In that vein, I have added a new section to my website for leadership topics. There are two new articles available right now that you can enjoy.

I will be adding to these in the coming weeks. I am also making some new products along this line including an e-book about motivating employees and team building. In the meantime you might enjoy the following links to my website all about employee motivation.

Fast Company is my favorite magazine of all time. You can find great articles here about business, trends and just about anything else. I found this article very interesting titled “How to maintain motivation when your goals are epic”.

In this article the CEOs of Box, Taskrabbit, NASA, and Huffington Post are interviewed. They relate how they stay motivated on a daily basis. It is some of the best, most detailed information about self motivation that I have seen recently in a magazine article. I hope you will read it and enjoy it as I did.
